Attention JUMP START SKYDIVERS :
The kids are gutted… (and so are we) so we are now intending on spending the day with the CanTeen kids at Rainbows End. Come along to support the kids. We will take our food and we will share the day with them. They know that many of us are disappointed too, and so we hope you will join us tomorrow at 10.00am
Where: Rainbows End
When: Sunday 20th March 10.00am at the main gate
See you there !
Best regards,
Tim Fastnedge.

It is with great regret I have to inform you that we have just been informed that Jump Start 2011 has been cancelled due to RNZAF operational requirements. The Jump Start team will endeavour to secure new dates in 2011 to hold the event and once we have more information we will be in contact to seek your support. Obviously are thoughts are with all the disappointed kids at this time and we sincerely thank all those who sacrificed their time and resources and travelled to support the event.
The CanTeen coordinator is arranging a day for the kids tomorrow (Sunday) and is inviting all JS personnel to attend. Jump Start will provide its food to this day and we would invite you all to come and meet the kids. Both the CanTeen & Project K kids will all be dissappointed too, so please feel welcome to attend. We will post details of the day on this website as soon as it comes to hand.
Kind Regards

I have just received confirmation that due to new taskings for the CHCH and Japan earthquakes, the C130 will not be available on Saturday 19th March.
It will be available on Sunday 20th so Jumpstart will be postponed till this day. Everythng will run as normall – arrival times etc, but now moved to SUNDAY 20th MARCH 2011.
Not the news we were wanting to hear but in light of the recent global events and current taskings of our aircraft, I am still counting us lucky to be able to run the event at all.
Weather is looking perfect for Sun as well…
Apologies all, but completely out of our control.
Regards,
Tim Fastnedge

Surplus proceeds from each Jump Start event go to the charity beneficiaries CanTeen – supporting young people living with Cancer and Project K – the foundation for youth development .
Each year surplus funds are distributed to CanTeen and Project K and this years saw $ 10,000 distributed. ( $5,000 to each organization). The Jump Start organizers, tandem masters, camera flyers, and participants of Jump Start do not stand to benefit financially – providing their time & services free-of-charge.
