Tandem & Camera working crews

Tandem Masters
We are again asking tandem masters to donate their services in 2012. That’s the best way you can show your support for Jump Start, as a member of the skydiving community.  And of course, you get to jump out of the Herc with your passengers. Due to the age & nature of medical condition of the Jump Start participants, we need experienced Tandem Masters to provide the kids with an experience of being alive. Some of the kids in this program face life & death situations everyday, but Jump Start challenges them to live life right now. Your role will be to provide the kids with a safe, fun Tandem experience from the ramp of a C130 Hercules. The RNZAF have been a part of the Jump Start event since its inception, and aid us in supply of ‘jump ship’, personnel and general hosting of the event.  It is preferred that you have all of your OWN GEAR, and can provide your passenger appropriate gear also(jumpsuit, helmet etc).

Camera Flyers
We are again asking Camera Flyers to donate their services in 2012. That’s the way you can best show your support for Jump Start, as a member of the skydiving community.  And of course, you get to jump out of the Herc with the tandem pair. The purpose of having camera flyers is to provide the students with a quality DVD of their tandem experience, including ground shots, a group shot and possibly a shot at the presentation of certificates. It is preferred that you have commercial experience to be a camera flyer. Be prepared to be on call all day, documenting the jumps and the ground activity. Sony camera tapes will be provided and will be returned to the Jump Start organizers at the end of the day.  Jump Start reserves the rights of photographs & film footage shot during the event. Such footage/photography will only be used for promotion of Jump Start events. While we may remove images from your sticks, you will be provided with a copy of the final official DVD containing all worthy stills.  All camera flyers will be aknowledged in the video credits. We will provide a brief for all camera flyers on the day.

Packing
We ask that the Tandem Master & Camera Flyers take care of packing their own equipment. We will provide a packer to assist with anyone needing assistance.

Why must I carry an NZPIA certificate or rating ?
In New Zealand the law requires you to hold a parachutist certificate issued by the Parachute Organisation that the Drop Zone you are jumping at is operating under. In the case of Jump Start, the Parachute Organisation the event operates under at Whenuapai is NZPIA (ASC Parachute Section).  So to participate at Jump Start you must hold an NZPIA certificate or rating.

What if I don’t hold an NZPIA certificate or rating  ?
If you currently do not hold an NZPIA certificate or rating, NZPIA will assist you in obtaining one if required. NZPIA have decided to support this event by sponsoring fees associated with issue of such certificates or ratings.
NZPIA TEMP CERTIFICATE OR RATING

(while you will be required to pay these fees, NZPIA will refund these costs to your credit card)
